Summerley joins board of directors at Hancocks

Hancocks Cash and Carry has announced that it has appointed Jonathan Summerley to its board of directors with immediate effect.

Summerley has been promoted from senior buyer to purchasing director, having spent 22 years with the family business.

Andrew Hancock, Hancocks chairman, said: "Jonathan has a great deal of knowledge and experience in the confectionery industry. Having worked closely with the previous purchasing director and having led the nine-strong buying department for the last year, Jonathan seemed the obvious choice to boost the strength of our board of directors."

Summerley said: "I am absolutely delighted with my appointment to purchasing director. Hancocks is a proactive and fun company to work for and there are plenty of exciting challenges ahead of us. I thoroughly look forward to contributing to the future of this successful company."
